![]() ![]() I made the same test with nes and the aspect ratio is consistent with or without overscan cropping. I think you may have to set the aspect ratio manually as core provided is flawed when something liek this happens. It's just weird that it would display the aspect ratio incorrect when not cropped. > Anonymous Wed Dec 30 18:56:41 2015 No.2885565Īnd what about NES? Because a lot of games are drawn beyond the overscan area. I think your eyes will adjust to just about anything, but yeah I'd go with the overcropped one. The overscan would not make change the aspect ratio, it would just show more of the screen, on a normal TV. So the less stretchy looks more correct? thank god > Anonymous Wed Dec 30 18:53:21 2015 No.2885554 I thought the console did output 8:7 ? I dunno I wasn't keeping up with the threads I just remember one a month ago. Which one is the right one? Or is it a completely different one? This question goes for NES and SNES. Without overscan cropping it's 1280x960px and with it's 1196x896px. Now if you tick or untick the option "crop overscan" the image will get stretched differently. In Retroarch I play with Aspect Ratio provided by the core, which is 4:3. ![]() My problem or rather confusion is the following: We all know that 8:7 is not the aspect ratio displayed by the real console.
